NFL National Football League

NFL National Footbal League Fotbal AmericanNFL  National Football League is the firstl league in the hierarchy of organized competition overseas. League was founded on August 20, 1920 as the American Professional Football associational but in 1922 will change their name to NFL , a name that dates today.

NFL National Football League match of the competition founded in 1920 a total of 11 teams , increasing their number to 32. Association is divided into two equal-American Conference Football Conference and National Football Conference . In each conference components  enter four divisions with four clubs competing in professional league.

American Football League is one of the four major sports leagues in America and by far the one who holds the record of organized audience with an average per match in the 2009 regular season 67 509  spectators.

NFL National Football League regular season lasts 17 weeks during which football teams played a total of 16 matches, one per week for each echipa.Season  start is on Tuesday ,the first week of September and runs weekly until late December or early January.

American Football Official BallThe competition is organized into playoff system at the end of each regular season competition of the six teams from each conference, each binding a football team in each division.These teams play the playoffs wich is a knock-out tournament that determines the champion of the NFL football season in the big match between Finalists - Super Bowl.

Super Bowl is hosted by a particular city chosen before the start of football season, usually a city where matches are held in the NFL.

NFL Football League Historical

In 1920, representatives of the American Football League and  several independent teams of professional American Football Conference form the basis of American Professional Football Conference, which will soon acquire the name NFL.

First official match took place in 1933 , in 1958 American league will become the most popular of sports leagues in the United States because of finals contention for winning the title of champion in NFL history that has remained under the name "The Greatest Game Ever Played ".

In 1966 start unification talks with the American Football League that is done in 1970 and gave birth to league match that will decide the champion - Super Bowl, which became the most watched annual sporting event in the United States.

Football Regular Season

  • Each team play six matches with opponents of own division, two with each ,one at home and the second on the opponent.
  • Each team play four matches with other teams in own conference in a cycle that is changed every three years, these matches taking place equally at home and ground opponents (two home, two away).
  • Each team supports four matches with teams from a division component of opponent conference  in a cycle that changes every four years (two games at home, two away).
  • Each team play one game against teams in own conference who finished on same place on their divisions.

Season playoffs will be organized as a knock-out tournament which determines the participating teams in the Super Bowl. In playoffs evolves 12 teams , six from each conference, the American Football Conference (AFC) and National Football Conference (NFC).

 

Football teams that complete the playoffs participating :

  • The four teams ranked first in the division are participating
  • 2 clubs invited from each conference

 

NFL National Football League is the only major league of the four United States which organizes season playoffs as a knock-out tournament, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League  using a "best-of" format.

Pro Bowl

The all-star game, the match that best meet football players and takes place one week after the final disputarea NFL Super Bowl.

NFL Football Teams

In NFL football competition attended by 32 professional football clubs , each team allowed to have 53 players in its composition but only use 45 for weekly games.

The most valuable team in the NFL National Football League is Dallas Cowboys with an estimated value by 1.6 billion dollars, one of the most valuable franchises in all professional sports in the world exceeded only by the club in the Premier League - Manchester United has a value of approximately $ 1,800,000,000 and shareholder Malcolm Glazer, whose stake in the club holds at NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
